Meet the Founder
Carlos is known by many as the jack of all trades. A Brooklyn, New York native with a diverse professional background composed of programming, design, entertainment and marketing. Carlos attended the University of Rochester, where he received a Bachelors of Science in Computer Science. During his undergraduate studies, he was heavily involved with various student organizations and events. Some of his key roles include Editor in Chief and Creative Director of the cultural publication, University of Rochester Messenger, Marketing Director for the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers and sound technician/DJ. After obtaining his degree, Carlos didn’t pursue a career as a programmer. Carlos took on a freelance opportunity as a graphic designer for a start up music, fashion and cultural publication geared towards the Reggaeton genre, The Connection Magazine. Shortly after two publications he took on a greater role as Creative Director and soon after Editor in Chief.
After producing 5 issues, he moved to become Creative Director for one of NYC biggest event promoters, John “Gungie” Rivera at Victory2 Multimedia. While at Victory2, Carlos was able to sharpen his skills in urban marketing and branding. Because of his background in Computer Science, he was then able to develop several applications which enhanced Victory2’s productivity. In addition, he designed several branding and identity campaigns for high profile event promotion clients in venues such as the Madison Square Garden, the Las Vegas Hilton, Jones Beach, Lincoln Center, etc. The campaigns were promoted in newspaper ads, subway billboards, flyers, websites, etc.
Carlos also became Marketing VP for Society of Professional Engineers NYC professional Chapter, a non-profit professional organization that promotes Hispanic leadership and community service in Corporate America. After several years at Victory2, he decided to move on and take a new opportunity with IAC Interactive Consumer Applications and Portals division, fortune 500 company which owns over 40 well known brands including Ask.com, IWon.com, myfuncards.com, smileycentral.com, CitySearch and other spin offs which included Ticketmaster, Evite, HSN, Match, Expedia, Tree.com and Home Advisor. He’s going on his 10th year as a Senor Software Engineer.
